Jeremy Caldwell graduated from West Union High School in 2002 and was selected as a member of the West Union High School Performing Arts Hall of Fame. He became an auxiliary police officer in March of 2003 at the Peebles Police Department under Chief Sam Purdin. Jeremy completed the Southern State Greenfield Peace Officer Academy in April of 2005 receiving an award for perfect attendance and Top Gun for excellence in marksmanship.
Jeremy has worked for the Peebles and Winchester police departments and has been with the Adams County Sheriff's Office since 2008. He has worked various positions in law enforcement from road patrol, detective and SRT (Special Response Team) under former SRT Commander David Bowie and overseas as a law enforcement security officer in Kuwait protecting US Troops by providing base entrance security and Integrity.
In 2008 Jeremy began working as the Intensive Supervision Felony Probation Officer under the Honorable Judge Brett M. Spencer of the Adams County Common Pleas Court. Jeremy worked 8.5 years supervising large case loads while making weekly and after hours visits to check on offenders placed on community control to ensure compliance and accountability.
Jeremy also worked hand in hand with the Adams County Community Service Program under the honorable Judge Brett M. Spencer. He was involved in canned food drives, village and township trash clean up days and weekly road crews. Jeremy also assisted with West Union Recreational Ball Park lawn care, painting and maintenance and numerous other details to help maintain Adams County.
Jeremy has also coached little league baseball and became an NRA firearms instructor in 2014, an Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certified firearms instructor in 2016 and recently became an Instructor for TDI (Tactical Defense Institute) under Mr. John Benner. He has been a business owner and is also involved with building and developing real estate in addition to working with local contractors to support Adams County's economy.
Jeremy has worked for and with elected officials for the past 20 years. He has gained many friendships and irreplaceable resources from these men and women who have been instrumental in shaping him into a man with leadership abilities.
Jeremy is a proud supporter of our military, law enforcement, fire, EMS, 911 dispatchers and county offices that are dedicated to Adams County. Jeremy also is an avid supporter of the Adams County Schools, Junior Deputy Bootcamps and the Lifewise Academy.
Jeremy's desire to become a County Commissioner started while working at the courthouse. During that time he became friends and family with the people who work hard each and every day to keep Adams County safe by providing services for all members of the public. He will work hard with all the office holders in Adams County to constantly improve and contribute to a better future for Adams County and its citizens.
Jeremy Caldwell will be an approachable, transparent, friendly and hard working public servant for the people of Adams County and will always be a resource for anyone in need. He will be committed to work with others for the best interest of the county's needs to form a cohesive working environment always placing Adams County and its citizens first.
